Fri 9\/25 The &#8220;Vanishing&#8221; Indian? &#8211; Representing the Other in Popular Literature<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reading: <a href=\"http:\/\/www-sul.stanford.edu\/depts\/dp\/pennies\/collection.html\">Beadle&#8217;s Dime Novel Cover Collection<\/a> &#8211; this is the collection you&#8217;ll use for your <a href=\"https:\/\/webstorage.worcester.edu\/sites\/thangen\/web\/Shared%20Documents\/LP3.Dimes.30Sept09.pdf\">Little Paper #3<\/a> which is due on Wednesday of next week (the other <a href=\"http:\/\/etext.virginia.edu\/railton\/roughingit\/map\/indcovers.html\">online exhibit of dime novel covers<\/a> is at the University of Virginia). There&#8217;s no particular reading assignment, but get familiar with how to use the collection and how to search within it, and be prepared to discuss in class a few of the covers you looked at.
